Вчера поздним вечером 20 марта Гордон Лэнктон (Gordon Lankton), владелец частного музея (Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, Mass), где наши святыни оказались в столь бедственном положении, разослал депешу (см. текст ниже), из которой следует, что они надеяться продлить пребывание русских икон при поддержке неназванного "представителя России". Лэнктон сообщает, что его музей, «госдепартамент США и партнеры в Музее Рублева продолжают переговоры с представителями Министерства культуры РФ с тем, чтобы разрешить продолжить выставку до ее отъезда, запланированного на июль 2011 года».
В четверг на прошлой неделе Минкультуры России предписало американскому музею немедленно демонтировать развернутую в его стенах выставку русских икон и вернуть ее в Россию. Однако демонтаж и вывоз экспонатов нашего Музея в Нью-Йорк для перевозки морским путем на Родину были намеренно затянуты до понедельника, чтобы успели вмешаться «тайные силы». Похоже, и в российской культуре начинается то же самое ПРОТИВОСТОЯНИЕ, что и в силовых структурах. Неслучайно в своём первом интервью по получении требования из Москвы о демонтаже выставки Гордон Лэнктон без тени смущения заявил перед журналистами, что «срочный вывоз икон может быть связан с вендеттой между двумя людьми в российском правительстве, один из которых оказался более настойчив»: http://expertmus.livejournal.com/68777.html

Last week, the Russian Federation Minister of Culture issued a seldom-used legal maneuver called “force majeure” to order the Museum of Russian Icons to immediately return the 37 icons and artifacts in the Treasures from Moscow exhibition currently on loan from the Andrey Rublev Museum. While the Russian Federation officials gave no reason for the order, we subsequently determined it was the result of a legal ruling that had nothing to do with our Museum or our contract with the Andrey Rublev.
Museum trustees and staff remain shocked regarding this turn of events, mostly because our very mission is “to enhance relations between Russia and the United States through the medium of ancient Russian art, especially Russian icons, a distinct artistic tradition that has captured the interest and imagination of American cultural society.”
With this goal in mind, the Museum of Russian Icons, the U.S. State Department and our partners at the Andrey Rublev Museum continue our negotiations with representatives from the Russian Federation to allow us to keep the exhibition in Clinton until its planned departure in July, 2011. We will inform you of our progress as soon as this fluid situation comes to a conclusion.
We believe that this is a misunderstanding that can be resolved. Until then, we would like to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who has shared concern and support for the Museum of Russian Icons.
